It has been a tough Monday for Allegany County Responders
In Allegany County, NY, Monday morning reports surfaced that a manure
tanker truck had crashed on County Road 27 at the Wiscoy Falls Bridge in Hume - radio reported indicated heavy damage to the bridge.
The truck, loaded with manure crashed, the driver was trapped, the fuel tanks
had ruptured and there was “content” scattered everywhere. Several fire and EMS
agencies responded, along with state police, DEC, the County Emergency Manager,
HAZMAT equipment and county officials. Radio reports indicated there was
extensive bridge damage. The county road was closed and additional help was
called from Pike Fire in Wyoming County. An air ambulance was also placed on
alert. It was a challenging scene. The status of the driver is unknown.
Then again, around 3 p.m., Allegany County Emergency
Services were called to a tractor trailer rollover in Hume. Early reports didn’t
indicate any serious personal injury, but again, as requested, fire and EMS was
brought to the scene.
