Rulings made in Allegany County Political Contests
The Allegany County Board of Elections has updated the
political races for 2025. In the County Treasurer race, the Board invalidated the
Conservative Party line for Adam B. Cyr. The state Conservative party chose not to authorize his candidacy. His Republican petitions were
validated and accepted. His opponent, Jenna Kelley had her Republican and
Conservative petitions validated.
In the town of Amity, Harold W. Mitchell, running for the town board in Amity, had his second nominating petitions invalidated. His first petition was accepted.
In the town of Independence, town board candidate Aaron Brubaker according to the county Board “candidate
declined-will not be on the ballot.” The petition was ruled valid, however.
The Board of Elections also removed Mark Bainbridge from the
Republican ballot for West Almond Town Board. The County said “candidate did
not file an acceptance and will not be named on the ballot.
