Road Closures Announced for CR119 and Magee Road Due to
Norfolk Southern Railroad Track Repairs
Bath, NY – April 24, 2025 – Eric Rose - Commissioner,
Steuben County Department of Public Works is informing the public of upcoming
road closures to accommodate track repair and paving work being conducted by
Norfolk Southern Railroad Corporation. These are not county-led closures, but
we are assisting in communicating the impact to local residents and travelers.
CR119 (County Road 119) Closure
- Location:
Between McMaster Road and County Route 10, near the Cemetery Bridge
- Closure
Date: Monday, April 28, 2025
- Time:
Beginning at 7:00 AM
- Reopening:
Expected the same evening pending asphalt cooling conditions. If the
surface remains too hot, the road will reopen the following morning.
Magee Road Closure (Town of Hornellsville)
- Location:
Between County Route 29 and Dineen Road
- Closure
Date: Wednesday, April 30, 2025
- Time:
Beginning at 7:00 AM
- Estimated
Duration: 2–3 days, depending on construction progress. Crews
will reopen the road sooner if conditions allow.
Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes and use caution in the area. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during these necessary infrastructure improvements.
