Ronald Gary Preston, 65, of Belmont, NY, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 9, 2024 in his daughter’s home surrounded by family. Born July 2, 1959, in Cuba, he was the son of LeClair Archie and Myrtle Louise Bisnett Preston. A graduate of Belfast Central School, he was first employed by his family gas station, Quaker State in Caneadea. He then went on to Preston Truck Sales, Eastside Garage, and Preston Auto in Wellsville. Later, he owned his own business, Twin Tier Auto Transfer in Belmont, and most recently was employed as transportation supervisor for Alfred-Almond School. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Ron enjoyed camping, fishing, reading, and was a NASCAR enthusiast. Surviving are: three children, Katie (Michael Rich) Preston of Scio, Gary Preston of Friendship, and Rachele Preston of Belmont; his loved one and faithful caregiver, Christine Warner and her daughter, Claire; nine grandchildren, Zachary, Mason, Brynn, Kinsley, Haley, Grayson, Waylon, Brayden, and Ryan; ten siblings, Russell Preston of Caneadea, Leslie Preston of Caneadea, Norman Preston of Wellsville, Richard Preston of Rochester, Wayne Preston of Belfast, Janice (Jerry) Horton of Endicott, Barbara Antonio of Clarence, Raymond Preston of Belfast, Linda (Steve) Whalen of Arlington Heights, IL, and Lowell “Bo” (Janelle) Preston of Friendship; nieces; nephews; and the mother of his three surviving children, Tracie Bliven. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Carrie A. Preston; and two brothers, Douglas Preston and Leonard Preston. A private graveside service will be held in Caneadea Cemetery, Caneadea. Friends are invited to attend a gathering to celebrate Ron’s life on Sunday, November 17, 2024 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at the Belfast Family Center, 7 Merton Ave, Belfast, NY.
