Hornell, NY — Hornell Partners for Growth (HPG) is excited to announce the annual “Hornell for the Holidays” celebration, a cherished community tradition that will light up Hornell's Main Street with holiday spirit on Shop Local Saturday, November 30th, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. This magical evening promises fun, festivities, and unforgettable holiday memories for all ages!
The day kicks off with special offers and promotions from our beloved local businesses. It’s a perfect time to shop local and support the community! Then, at 5:00 PM, the much-anticipated Main Street Parade will commence, delivering Santa Claus to his cozy holiday cottage and the sparkling Christmas tree. Watch as Santa works his magic to light up the tree, kicking off the holiday season in Hornell. After Santa lights the tree with his holiday magic, he’ll be in his cottage until 9:00 PM, ready to greet families and spread Christmas cheer.
Santa will be offering free gifts to visitors while supplies last, and everyone is welcome to capture the moment with photos – feel free to bring your phones or cameras to take those festive snapshots with Santa!
While waiting to see Santa, guests are invited to browse a selection of craft and food vendors or while in line sit for the Speed Sketcher for a unique, complimentary on-the-spot sketch. You won’t want to miss this fun keepsake from your evening.
Before Santa Lights the Tree, the community spirit continues with a lively sing-along led by the Hornell High School Show Choir, who will perform the Bruce Springsteen version of “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town.” We invite everyone to join in – learn the tune, practice the lyrics, and help fill the air with holiday cheer as we sing together and make this a memorable night!
In addition to our annual festival, we would like to highlight that at 7:15 PM, the United Presbyterian Church at 150 Main Street will host its annual Lighting of the Creche service on the church lawn, complete with chili and cookies for attendees. The ceremony begins at 7:30 PM, providing a peaceful moment to reflect and enjoy the season.
High school seniors are encouraged to be a part of this exciting event! Volunteering with HPG is a great way to engage in the community, fulfill volunteer hours, and help make this holiday celebration a success. Opportunities are available throughout the day, from 10:00 am to 9:00 PM, and volunteers can commit to the entire day or just a few hours. To sign up, email hornellpartners@gmail.com.
Join us for an evening of joy, community spirit, and holiday magic as we welcome Santa to Hornell and celebrate the start of the holiday season together!
