FRIENDSHIP, NY -- “How to Become a Missionary in Minutes” will be the discussion topic for a new churches missions group which gets underway next week with a free luncheon in Friendship.
Individuals,
regardless of church affiliation, are invited to attend the noon to 1:30PM,
Wednesday, October 16, session at the Mission House, site of the former St.
Andrew's Church rectory at 28 East Main Street.
Purpose
of the group will be to determine how area residents can become involved in
local, regional, national and worldwide missions activities which reach out to
people in need.
The
Mission House property, which includes a church and offices, is being used by
the What God is Doing in Friendship ny alliance of churches to provide new
opportunities for area residents who have a variety of needs, including social,
educational, and services.
Several
means by which individuals can become missionaries without significant effort,
including free resources to do so, will be discussed at the luncheon meeting,
along with various approaches and actual missionary presenters who can be part
of future meetings, depending on attendee interests.
A
determination as to the most suitable meeting times for interested individuals
also will be made.
Further
information and required reservations to help determine luncheon needs, are
available at ajmbaird@aol.com or (585) 808-1300.
