ALBANY - In his daily briefing Monday Gov. Cuomo noted,
“This Friday, October 9th, is the last day New Yorkers can register to vote in
the 2020 Election.”
He stated, “I encourage all New Yorkers to register to vote
for this year's upcoming election.”
To register to vote in NYS, you must be:
-Be a citizen of the United States,
-Be 18 years old before or on Nov. 3rd,
-Be a resident of this state and the county, city or village
for at least 30 days before the election,
-Not be in prison or on parole for a felony conviction
(unless parolee has been pardoned or has had restored rights of citizenship,)
-Not be adjudged mentally incompetent by a court,
-Not claim the right to vote elsewhere.
You can register in person at the county board of elections
located at 18 Willets Ave. (State Route 19) in Belmont. The office is located
behind the green church and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Or you can
register at any New York State agency-based voter registration center.
You may also submit a voter application form at the Department of Motor Vehicles, either in person or on their web site if you already have DMV-issued identification.
You may also request a NYS Voter Registration form by mail, but probably not in time for the Friday deadline.
