Friendship school voters to decide fate of $2.3 million capital improvement project

Voters in the Friendship Central School District head to the polls Thursday to decide the fate of a $2.3 million capital improvement project. The proposal includes a partial roof replacement, flooring and lighting upgrades along with a secure vestibule with steps and a ramp at the main entrance. The project also includes sports field fencing pavement repairs and drainage repairs. According to district officials, there is no anticipated increase in taxes levied as a result of this project. The district will receive state aid which will cover approximately 98% of the total cost. The local share of the total cost will be appropriated from existing fund balances. Voting will take place today from noon until 8 p.m. in the main lobby.
