Coudersport: Potter County woman jailed for attempting to steal car, ambulance from hospital ER parking lot

A Potter County woman will appear in District Court Friday afternoon after Pennsylvania Troopers said she attempted to steal both a car and an ambulance from the ER parking lot at UPMC Cole in Coudersport. 34-year-old Veronica Owens of Austin was found in the hospital lobby and taken into custody. She was charged with a top count of felony attempted criminal theft and several lesser summary offenses. Arraigned in court, she was remanded to Potter County Jail…bail set at $20,000. She was then also arrested for seven separate crimes, with the top counts of felony theft by unlawful taking and felony receiving stolen property. Those crimes happened in Portage Township. Magisterial District Judge Annette Easton set another $20,000 in bail.
