A U.S. Navy Veteran, he served honorably from 1959 –
1960. He was a self-employed truck
driver and heavy equipment operator.
Surviving are: three
children, Michelle Schaffer, William D. Schaffer, and Jackie Schaffer, all of
Bath; and five grandchildren, Brett (Reagan Ball) Schaffer, Brittiny (Camden)
Lawrence, Kristopher Schaffer, Alicia (Kevin) Gallagher, and Nicole Jimerson; five
great-grandchildren; and cousins. He was
predeceased by his parents.
A memorial service will be held 5:00 p.m. Thursday, February
20, 2020 in the Community Mennonite Fellowship, Corning. Burial will be in Bath National
Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s
choice.
