Geneseo: Remains could be those of wanted fugitive

The Livingston County Sheriff believes skeletal remains found in a heavily wooded area in Geneseo by a hunter Sunday afternoon may be those of wanted fugitive David Clyde Morgan from Wilmington, NC. Sheriff Thomas Dougherty said evidence found at the scene points toward Morgan. Police called Morgan a career criminal, spending close to 20 years in prison for robbery and drug crimes. In July 2018, Morgan and his girlfriend, Sandra Brown, also from Brunswick County, NC were pulled over on State Route 20A in Geneseo. Morgan threatened police with a gun…shots were fired by police…and Morgan disappeared into a corn field…not to be seen again. Brown was convicted of menacing police and is currently in a New York prison. The sheriff said it could be weeks or months before a positive ID can be established.
