Wellsville: Grand Theatre owner says "we're at the end of our rope"

Wellsville is on the verge of losing Main Street's Grand Theatre. Darren Jones told the Village Board Monday night that he has owned the theatre for sixteen years. He said bluntly "things are not good down there...we're at the end of our rope." He added, "we're in danger of closing." Jones wasn't asking for a village handout; he was asking for help...who he could talk to about grants or other type of funding. Jones noted that he 2012, he invested $250,000 to renovate and update the space. The village board engaged in a twenty-five-minute discussion and Mayor Shayler said he would speak with the Village Economic Development Council. Trustees also suggested starting a GoFundMe page.
