Belmont: Multi-vehicle crash involving log truck causes fuel spill

A multi-vehicle crash sent one driver to a medical helicopter Monday morning. The crash happened around 11 a.m. near the former truck stop in Belmont on State Route 19. Jeff Luckey is the Allegany County Emergency Manager. He said a log truck was involved in a multiple vehicle collision which sent the truck into a ditch. The crash caused a fuel spill from up to 100 gallons of fuel which prompted a response for a Hazmat team. Luckey said the team was able to contain the fuel spill, containing it within a close proximity to the scene. One person was flown from the scene via Mercy Flight. Portville Truck and its emergency response team assisted with the controllING the spill and scene. Amity-based Troopers investigated.
