EB pursuit on I-86 began in Jamestown, but Troopers pull away in Allegany County-UPDATED-IN CUSTODY
Anyone who listened to a police scanner in Allegany County around 9:45 a.m. this morning…found some compelling listening. A vehicle pursuit that began around Jamestown (earlier) made its way to Allegany County on I-86. Chautauqua County law enforcement ended its chase…but the pursuit of the Ohio registered vehicle picked up again around Olean…speeds reached 115 mph or more. Several Sheriff's Deputies were in hot pursuit. Once the chase entered Allegany County, local agencies and Troopers engaged. A senior State Police Commander inquired what prompted the pursuit, but local authorities weren’t quite sure if it was a felony chase or just traffic tickets. The senior commander then immediately ordered the chase to be terminated. The vehicle allegedly continued eastbound.
UPDATE 10:23AM- Vehicle got off I-86 in Almond. 80+ mph through village. The gray Toyota sedan was last scene on County Road 11....
State Police again ordered the pursuit to be terminated.
UPDATE 11 A.M.- The vehicle made its way to Main Street in the Village of Wellsville. Village Police said the suspect vehicle continue to run all red lights. The vehicle was last seen on Main Street in the Business District.
UPDATE 11:31am- Allegany County says a confirmed siting near Head Start in Wellsville. The suspects were allegedly dumping suitcases in the woods near the area...
