Southern Tier chase: Wellsville PD says "he was running regardless"

The driver of an Ohio registered car who allegedly led police on a high-speed chase from Jamestown to Wellsville, was "running regardless," according to the Wellsville Police Chief, whose agency eventually captured the driver and two passengers in a parking lot at the Head Start facility on North Main Street in Wellsville Monday. Wellsville Police Chief Tim O'Grady says only the driver is currently facing vehicle and criminal charges. O'Grady said the operator disregarded several traffic laws when he traveled from the Genesee Parkway to Main Street, traveling at a speed "in excessive of 50 mph" on Main Street before the vehicle came to a stop near the Head Start facility. As far as O'Grady knows, police officers "never drew their guns" when the suspects were taken into custody. There were reports that the trio fled the car and tossed "suitcases into a wooded area, but that, the Chief says "has not been confirmed. O'Grady said that right now, only the driver is facing charges and he expects a press release will be issued late Monday afternoon.
