UPDATE: Suspected Allegany County heroin death leads to criminal charges for two

Two people face criminal charges in connection with a suspected heroin overdose death in Clarksville March 7th. State police arrested Jessica L. Sprague, 31 of Bolivar and Mark A. Crainer, 37, of Bolivar. Both were charged with making a false written statement and tampering with physical evidence-conceal/destroy. Sprague was also charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Arraigned in court, bail was set at $15,000 cash for Sprague and $10,000 cash for Crainer.
According to the lead state police Investigator, a 24-year-old man, Zachary Whitcher, died of the overdose. The suspects in the case have been accused of removing property from the home after the death. Investigators said two children, ages 10 and 11, where in the residence at the time. State police said the situation is complicated, referring to the location of the incident...it's unclear who lived or stayed in the dwelling. The lead Investigator said more charges are likely. The investigation continues today.
