Homicide charge filed in Clarksville heroin death

State police Investigator Jed Murphy today filed a criminally negligent homicide charge against Jessica L. Sprague, 31 of Bolivar. She is accused of providing the heroin the caused the death of a man in Clarksville March 7th. According Murphy, 24-year-old Zachary Whitcher, died of the overdose. Sprague was also charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in third degree, a class D felony. She was arraigned this afternoon by Allegany County Judge Terry Parker who Murphy said he released her on her own recognizance after posting bail on previous charges. Investigator Murphy alleges that Sprague provided the heroin that caused Whitcher's death.
