Press release
Wellsville, NY --- “We’ve welcomed
more than 500 visitors to our Election Headquarters in just over six weeks”
remarked Michael J. McCormick, chair of the Allegany County Democratic
Committee. “And we placed our fourth order for lawn signs. We can’t seem to keep
them in stock. Voters seem very motivated this year. The response has been remarkable.”
The Allegany County
Democratic Committee’s fundraising efforts made it possible to rent an election
headquarters ten weeks before the election.
Volunteers lined up to take shifts, making it possible to staff the
headquarters seven days a week, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Vice Chair Martha Sabato
said, “People are coming out of the woodwork, asking what they can do to
help. They have made it possible to reach
4000 voters by mail, and now they’re starting to hang literature on doorknobs
all across the county. Our message is
resonating with voters across the political spectrum, not just with Democrats.”
The Democratic Election Headquarters
is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 94 N. Main St., Wellsville, and is
your local source for lawn signs, bumper stickers, flags, buttons, and
candidate information.
