Allegany County sales tax collections pacing ahead, but COVID-19 concerns exist

Figures released by the Allegany County Treasurer show that the county is pacing ahead of this point last year. Progress will be discussed during a county budget committee meeting today. So far this year, sales tax collections in Allegany County are ahead of last year by $163,716.16. Allegany County hopes to collect $21,120,000 in 2020.
During todays meeting, there will be a discussion about a possible future shortfall in sales tax revenue associated with COVID-19.
