Town of Angelica to hold public hearing on local law involving Town Justice

The Angelica Town Board will hold a public hearing on Monday (Dec. 9). regarding Local Law #3 of 2019. The law is titled "A Local Law to Establish Residency Requirements for the Office of Elected Town Justice for the Town of Angelica. The hearing is set for Monday at 7 p.m. at the Grange meeting room at 55 Park Circle. According to a legal notice, the purpose of the law is to authorize the town board to appoint a seated Village or Town Justice to fill a vacancy in the court and to expand residency requirements to permit otherwise a qualified individual to run for the seat as long as they live in Allegany County.
