Scio to honor veterans at new monument site

Release:
On Veteran’s Day, we reflect on freedom and the price that has been paid for that freedom. During the summer, a beautiful new monument was erected in Fairlawn Cemetery in Scio in honor of the local veterans who have served our country throughout the years.
The Fairlawn Cemetery Association invites you to join us on Monday, November 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the site of the new monument. As we gather in Fairlawn Cemetery, ceremonies will be performed to dedicate the monument that honors our veterans.
Mark your calendar, Monday, November 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairlawn Cemetery, State Route 19, Scio.
Contributions are still being sought to finish paying for the accessories at the monument site and additional funds gathered will be used to defray the costs of cleaning veteran’s headstones.
Contributions can be sent to the Fairlawn Cemetery Association. There is also a gofundme page. Area veterans will be participating as well as local high school students.
