William C. “Bill” Rose, 78, of 9813 Rte. 446, Cuba, passed
away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 at home after a lengthy illness.
Born on June 20, 1940, in Olean, he was a son of Charles W.
and Ruth Rutledge Rose. On April 20,
1963, in the First Baptist Church of Cuba, he married the former Patricia A.
Hunt who survives.
Bill attended schools in Olean until 8th grade and then
graduated Cuba Central School.
He was a member of the Local IBEW 601 Electricians Union in
Jamestown. He had worked for Kel-Kur
Electric Prior to his retirement.
Bill was a social member of the Cuba VFW Post 2721, the Cuba
Fire Department and a former member of
the Cuba Friendship Masonic Lodge #306 F&AM, the Shawn M. Clemens Memorial
AmVets Post 1 of Cuba, and the Cuba American Legion Post 655.
He was active in the boy scouts and cub scouts, was a former
little league coach, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He is survived
by his wife Pat of Cuba; two sons, Raymond (Lisa) Rose of Maryland and William
C. Rose II of Cherry Creek; two daughters, Trisha (Darwin) Carlson of Weston
Mills, Dawn (Gary Seifert) Rose of Cuba; 9
grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; a brother, Jim (Mai) Rose of Cuba; two sisters, Joanne Guild of Cuba and Jeanne
Smith of Cuba; Several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Patti
Lynn Rose, and a sister June Gaeta.
Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home
& Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Thursday, November 8,
2018 from 7-9 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Friday, November 9,
2018 at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. David Lawton, will officiate. Burial will be in
Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, New York.
