Allegany County: Murder suspects in jail without bail, investigation continues

The five men charged with murder and manslaughter in the beating death of 23-year-old Nicholas A. Burdge of Wellsville remain in the Allegany County Jail without bail.
Dylan L. Coomer, 26, Brandon J. Poehmel, 21, Lawrence C. Haxton III, 34, Howard M. Burroughs, 41of Wellsville and Kristopher Delill, 38 were arraigned by a county court judge via a video link and sent to jail. They all will return to court April 8th. A 16-year-old Wellsville resident, also charged with murder and manslaughter, was remanded to a secure detention facility in Albany. Two others were arrested on lesser charges. Burdge was allegedly ties to a chair and beaten, repeatedly, in an apartment on North Main Street in Wellsville. His body was later dumped in the Genesee River in Willing. His body was discovered Sunday. Police have not yet publicly identified the motive. Wellsville Police Lt. Josh Kear assisted BCI with information of potential suspects and witnesses. State Police Investigators on Wednesday were again interviewing people in Wellsville and Willing regarding the case.
