Olean 2-year-old OD's on marijuana edible

Press Release: On June 26th, Olean City Fire and Police responded to a residence in the North end of the City for a child that had possibly overdosed. A 2 year-old child was found to be in distress and taken to Olean General Hospital where it was learned that the child had ingested part of a marijuana edible labeled "death bar" while inside the residence unsupervised. The child was transported to Oishei Hospital in Buffalo for further treatment. The child did eventually recover and was released from the hospital. This was investigated by the Criminal Unit and Juvenile Unit. A parent was arrested and charged with acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17 (A Misdemeanor ). Cattaraugus County Child Protective Services also investigated this incident. Please keep any type of edible locked up in your home. Most edibles appear to children as candy.
