Stephen M. Colburn: Loving Husband and Friend
Stephen M. Colburn, 76, of Cuba Lake, passed away Wednesday,
September 18, 2024 at Olean General Hospital after a short illness.
Born on June 17, 1948, in Cuba, he was a son of Alfred L.
and Isabel E. Moore Colburn. On November
11, 1978, in Lackawanna, he married the former Paula L. Pozder who survives.
Steve was a graduate of Cuba Central School and then
graduated from Grove City College.
He retired from Empire of America Bank where he was the
Assistant Vice President of Human Resources.
In 2004 he and his wife opened Our Olde Barn in Cuba. He always enjoyed conversing with the people
who came their store.
Steve enjoyed antiques and going to antique shows, going to
the racetrack, horses and horse racing, playing cards with his buddies, golfing
with friends, gardening, and boating on Cuba Lake.
In addition to his wife, Paula, he leaves behind a
Sister-In-law Cindi (Patrick) Hagen of Depew, a Nephew Scott Hagen of Depew, numerous
Cousins, and a lifetime of friends. He was predeceased by his parents. Services
will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, New York. In lieu of
flowers, memorials may be made to the Cuba Cemetery Association, 17 Maple
Street, Cuba, New York 14727 or to the Cuba Circulating Library 39 E. Main
