Cyr to run for Allegany County Treasurer

Adam Cyr of Bolivar has announced he is running for Allegany County Treasurer, as the position is open for the 2025 general election.

Cyr is currently an Allegany County Legislator serving District III. He said it's time to step away from that position and part of his business to focus on the Allegany County Treasurer's office.
"For three years as a county legislator and running Cyrco Construction for 25 years, I've talked to residents all over Allegany County and have heard what they want to see from the treasurer's office and how they would like to see their money spent as taxpayers," Cyr said.
Cyr said he will suspend his business of 25 years, Cyrco Construction, to focus on serving the residents of Allegany County as treasurer.
"I'm deeply committed to lowering property tax and sales tax in Allegany County," Cyr said. "So this has to be my focus as I continue to talk to more residents and prepare for this important position."
Cyr will continue Cyrco Rolloff Service, which provides the pick up and removal of dumpsters to residential and commercial businesses.
He said as a legislator, he's had a chance to work with the treasurer's office and he respects the work that has taken place over the years.
"I will not go in and change the things that work and are efficient for taxpayers," Cyr said. "As I meet people each day with my job, they have priorities they would like to see addressed within the treasurer's office."
Cyr and his wife, Angie, have two children and three grandchildren.
"I am fortunate to have all of my family living in Allegany County and I think we are on the right path to keep them and other families here to enjoy the wonderful way of life we live each day," Cyr said. "We are seeing more interest in businesses and families coming to this county and staying because we can offer a quality of life most places in the country can not. That's why it's so important to me to make it affordable to live and work here."
