Several Drug Charges for Steuben County Woman on 390 Stop

INTERSTATE 390: Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of Steuben County woman on drug related charges after a traffic stop on Interstate 390. On April 18, 2019 Deputy Shawn Whitford was assigned to the Sheriff’s Office Operation Safe Interstate initiative when he stopped a vehicle on Interstate 390 for a violation of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.

The Deputy Sheriff found the vehicle to be occupied by three people. The Deputy Sheriff suspected that the occupants were involved in drug activity and initiated a drug investigation.
The subsequent roadside investigation revealed that a passenger in the vehicle, 22-year-old Tyler A. Leasure of Bath was allegedly in possession of heroin, crack cocaine, alprazolam pills, marijuana and a hypodermic needle.
Leasure was arrested and charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Leasure was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Conesus Justice Ellen Coyne. The Judge released Leasure on her own recognizance.
