Reed Delivers Grant for Steuben County Office for the Aging

Washington –Rep. Tom Reed on Thursday announced $65,268 in grants to provide the Steuben County Office for the Aging with funding to support the Senior Corps RSVP program.
“We care about supporting volunteers who give their time to better our communities,” Tom said. “This grant enables the Office for the Aging to train senior volunteers in our area. We support our neighbors who choose to  volunteer and give back to their communities.”
“Volunteers are the backbone of the support system for older persons in Steuben County,” said Patricia Baroody, Director of the Steuben County Office for the Aging. “The funding that our RSVP program receives from the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) helps us to recruit, train, utilize and celebrate these dedicated volunteers. Our volunteers change lives for the better for seniors and themselves, as well!”
RSVP is one of the largest volunteer networks in the nation for people 55 and over. Through RSVP, the Senior Corps connects American seniors with volunteer organizations in their area, enabling volunteers to share their unique skills and talents by serving their communities.
