Steuben: Neurauter sentenced to life without parole for killing wife

A Steuben County judge sentenced a New Jersey man to life in prison without parole for the murder of his wife in Corning. That sentence was handed down today to 48-year-old Lloyd Neurauter. He was found guilty of murdering his wife Michele and then staging the scene to look like a suicide. The couple's daughter participated in the homicide. From the Corning Leader...“I have spent a lot of time reviewing my Bible and my Christian faith,” Lloyd Neurauter told the court Tuesday morning. “I recognize my actions were completely wrong.”
“It is not surprising that someone who has done what you have done, sir, would be seeking forgiveness from God,” Steuben County Judge Peter Bradstreet told the defendant. “Being forgiven by God doesn’t take away the consequences of your actions.
The story grabbed headlines and even made national headlines.
