The HKS autobody shop at 3931 Cottage Bridge Road in Scio was destroyed by fire Tuesday afternoon. Photos posted online show flames and heavy smoke as fire crews arrived. Fire departments from Scio, Belmont, Wellsville Allentown, Friendship and Andover all responded with EMS support from Wellsville. The business is owned by Houston Saxton. According to one Facebook post, “Houston Saxton is as honest as the day is long, would give the shirt off his back, never screwed his customers over and always willing to work with those who didn't have a lot of money. This is plain unfair. This is not only his business but his livelihood and means of supporting his wife and their 3 kids.” The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
