Addison school returns to remote learning after new positive COVID case

Addison School Statement:

Saturday, the Addison Central School District was notified that a second non-instructional staff member has tested positive for COVID-19. As a result of the impact that these cases have on our Transportation Department, we are unable to provide student transportation to school at this time. Therefore, all schools in the Addison Central School District will transition to full-time virtual learning for all students beginning on Monday, October 5 through Friday, October 9. Additionally, all athletic practices and games will be suspended for this week. On Friday, October 9, we will update our school community on when we can reopen schools for our hybrid model of learning.

Meal pick-up will be available on Monday, October 5 from 11:00 a.m. until noon at the Addison High School, Valley Early Childhood School and Woodhull Town Hall. There is no charge for these student meals.

The Steuben County Public Health Department is conducting contact tracing with the cooperation of the District, and the person is currently quarantined. The Health Department is contacting anyone who had direct contact with this individual. If you do not receive a call from the Health Department, you can assume that your student did not have contact with this person.

As always, the safety of our staff and students is our main focus and we are following the Health Department protocols.
