Mrs. Jackson was born at home in Westfield, Pa., on Sept.
20, 1952 to Joe Eugene and Edith Marie (Hawkins) King. She was a 1970 graduate
of Cowanesque Valley High School in Westfield, Pa. On July 11, 1970 she married
Ronald Eugene Jackson, who survives. Joyce worked in office administration
retiring from Deerwood Fasteners in Huntersville, N.C. in 2009 after working
there for 22 years.
Besides her husband of 49 years, Joyce is survived by her
sons, Brian Jackson of Wellsville and Bruce (Crystal) Jackson of Statesville,
N.C.; four grandchildren, Andy (Jessica) Cline of San Antonio, Tex., Anna
(Phillip) Bolick and Brittany (Michael) Campbell, both of Lincolnton, N.C., and
Bailey Jackson of Statesville, N.C.; eleven great grandchildren, Jamison
Nanney, Emma Jackson, Kenzleigh Jackson, Caden Peterson, Charlie Campbell,
Paityn Bolick, Ryleigh Bolick, Rylen Campbell, Bella Campbell, Ashtyn Cline and
Logan Cline; two brothers, Dale (Frances) King of Maiden, N.C., and Robert King
of Franklinville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Joyce was an avid and talented crafter. She particularly
enjoyed sewing and quilting, scrapbooking, and cake decorating. Family was very
important to her and she enjoyed the life of a wife and mother. During the
holiday season, she delighted in the family gatherings and baking for her
family.
Joyce was a long-time member of Shepherd of the Valley
Lutheran Church. Her life revolved around her faith and her church where she
was a dedicated servant of God.
There will be no prior visitation. A private memorial
service will be held on Saturday (May 30) at 11:00 a.m. at Shepherd of the Valley
Lutheran Church in Wellsville with Vicar Gerry Zimmerman officiating.
