Writer responds to Guest Columnist

I read with interest the article by Lee Marcus. When I read that "all white men are created special" the first person who came to mind is Billy Graham. He is the most "special" person I've ever heard. He was always reverent, humble, and sincere. I guess I never realized he was "White" - probably because of the aura that always surrounded him.
I've spent a lot of time as a patient in the VA. While talking with other vets I never noticed their skin color, nationality, or sexual orientation. I just listened to them as we shared the horrors of war. Talk about being on a precipice...
I've also remembered and honored our first responders, (police, firemen, emts,) especially those who went into the towers while everyone else was rushing to get out. They never came back from that precipice.
When setting wreaths at the Bath VA cemetery at Christmas time I never noticed anything on the headstones that depicted skin color.
Until I can become as bitter and as hateful as you, I'll just have to accept people for who they are - regardless of color, nationality, or gender preference.
Lee, I sincerely hope you never had any "white sons."  I wish you Peace.
