After graduating Valedictorian from Scio Central High School,
she went to the Bryant & Stratton business school and accepted a secretarial
position with Kiekeffer Paper Company in Buffalo, NY. She married Donald K Reiner, a foreman at the
paper company on July 7, 1945. They
shared 41 years together until he passed away in April of 1986. Dorothy and her husband spent most of their
life in Swengel, PA where they owned a Christian Publishing company and book
store, Reiner Publications, and Don was Postmaster for Swengel. Dorothy was secretary for the book store and
Saturday clerk for the post office and when Don died, she took over as
Postmaster. Around 1994 she moved to
Trout Run to be near family and worked as Registrar at Camp Susque. In 2004 she married Charles Stock, a longtime
friend, of Bradenton, FL. When Charles
died in 2015 Dorothy moved back to Trout Run and later to Marietta, GA for her
last two years.
Dorothy is survived by her sister Virginia Allen (Russell)
of Almond, NY, her three sons William (Joanie) of Greer, SC, Jason (Gabbie) of
Marietta, GA and Bruce (Kathy) of Trout Run, PA as well as eight grandchildren
and five great grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for the spring of 2021 in the
Trout Run area.
