Ulysses crash injures four, two seriously

Pennsylvania state police say an elderly couple from Georgia suffered suspected serious injuries when the vehicle they were in was struck after failing to yield at an intersection. Troopers said the crash happened at 2:51 p.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of State Route 49 and Gold Road in Ulysses. State police said 80-year-old Marjorie Brent of Hartwell, Georgia failed to stop at a red light and was struck by an SUV operated by Brian Daniel, 49 of Ulysses. Brent and her husband, 83-year-old William were seriously injured. Daniel and a 16-year-old female passenger sustained minor injuries. All four were transported to UPMC-Cole in Coudersport. Mrs. Hartwell was charged with obedience to traffic control devices. Ambulances from Ulysses and Genesee were at the scene as was Tri-Town Fire.
