BATH – For the sixth-straight year, Steuben County will celebrate children and take a stand to prevent their abuse or neglect.
"Pinwheels and Promises," is sponsored by the Prevent Child Abuse Steuben, and is slated for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 5 in Pulteney Square Park in Bath. The event features pinwheels – a symbol of carefree children -- made by local youth programs, libraries, churches and other organizations, and encourages everyone to help prevent child abuse in the county.
"The ‘promises’ part of the campaign reminds us all that we can all make a promise to do something to prevent child abuse," said Bill Caudill, Steuben County Youth Bureau youth program coordinator. "The pinwheels are a beautiful reminder, but it is the ‘promises’ that make a difference in the lives of children."
