On May 24, 2025, the New York State Police conducted an Underage Drinking Initiative in Allegany County. During these investigations, businesses are checked utilizing a Trooper in plain clothes and one or more underage operatives who cannot lie about their age or provide a false date of birth.
As a result of the initiative, Dollar General, 4836 NY-19 S., Belmont, NY 14813 was found to be out of compliance. The 19-year-old employee was arrested and charged with Unlawful Dealing with a Child 1st and Prohibited Sale Alcoholic Beverage.
