Alfred State: Nursing AAS program granted Continued Accreditation by ACEN

The Alfred State associate degree in nursing program (AAS) has been granted Continued Accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

“We have worked hard to meet the standards set by ACEN and we are excited to continue to educate and prepare our students,” stated Nursing Department Chair Jody Blankenship. “Every visit we receive meaningful feedback that will help us evolve and improve our program.”

The next site visit by the ACEN for the AAS program will be held in the Spring of 2032.

ACEN is recognized as the accrediting body for all types of nursing education programs by the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). They support the interests of nursing education, nursing practice, and the public by providing specialized accreditations for all levels of nursing education and transition-to-practice programs. As the leader in nursing education accreditation, the goal of ACEN is to be a supportive partner in strengthening the quality of nursing education and transition-to-practice programs.

In May 2023, ACEN granted Initial Accreditation for the Nursing BS program.
