Wellsville: Food truck operator receives partial village approval

Persel Matthew addresses the village board
A new mobile food truck business received a little good news from the Wellsville village board Monday night. Persel and Elizabeth Matthew of Wellsville continue to seek approval from the village to begin operating. Last night, the board approved a temporary vendor permit which will allow the couple to be open during the Lions Club Fishing Derby at the end of the month. Mr. Matthew explained that he has received a health department permit, tax ID and other necessary documentation. Mayor Randy Shayler said he would not support the food truck operating on any public street or public property. The Board did not have an issue with the business operating on private property, with landowner permission. After more discussion, the Board granted the temporary permit so the business could launch its service by the end of the month. The owners will continue to work with private sites to set up shop.
