Complete Obituary: Robert M. "Bob" Garden, 34, Little Genesee


Robert M. Garden  “beloved husband, father, and son”

LITTLE GENESEE, N.Y.- Robert M. “Bob” Garden, 34, of Little Genesee, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, from injuries sustained in a car accident.
Born on January 30, 1985 in Barstow, California, he was a son of Brian E. and Lucille G. “Lucy” Green of Shinglehouse.  On August 14, 2010 in Westons Mills, he married Kelly L. Gilliland Garden, who survives.
Bob attended Oswayo Valley High School in Shinglehouse.  He was a self-employed contractor, owning and operating Bob’s Construction in Little Genesee.
Bob was a car enthusiast and had the knack to fix anything be it a car, truck, snowmobile, four wheeler or anything with a motor.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed bow hunting and fishing.  He especially enjoyed time with his family and friends, no matter the occasion.
Surviving besides his wife and his parents are a daughter, Kenna L. Garden and a son, Cole E. Garden, both at home; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ken and Judy Gilliland of Bolivar, who he loved as parents; a sister, Holly Jo (Jeremy) Linden of Shinglehouse; a brother, Levi E. Green of Shinglehouse; his best friend who he considered a brother, Corey (Sierra) Canfield of Montana; his maternal grandmother, Gladys Lute Miller of Olean; his paternal grandfather, Leonard “Butch” Green of Ceres; three nieces; his biological father, Michael B. Garden and his wife, Christina, of Phoenix, Arizona; and a host of friends.
Bob was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Robert Lute; his step-grandfather, Richard “Bopa” Miller; and his paternal grandmother, Bonnie Green.
Family and friends may call from 4p.m. to 6p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, where a celebration of Bob’s life will follow at 6p.m. with Pastor Curt MacDonald of the Myrtle Gospel Tabernacle Church, Shinglehouse, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob’s name may be made to Community Bank, Bolivar Branch, Attention K & C Garden Benefit, 308 Main Street, Bolivar, NY 14715.
Bob’s family has entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
