Upcoming Community Making Project organized by Yarn Over and to benefit Hart Comfort House
- Project to take place from week of February 18th until end of March
- All makers are invited to participate: knitters, crocheters, quilters, sewers, etc.
- Yarn Over is new yarn store in Alfred Station, NY. Formerly Alfred Knitting Studio, re-opened in August of 2018, now owned by Amie Acton
- Yarn Over will be collecting handmade teddy bears and lap robes for Hart Comfort House in Wellsville.
- Teddy bears are for residents and their families and bring comfort to a difficult period of life.
- Yarn Over has knit, crochet, and sewn bear patterns available for free to participants
- Lap robes are a specific request to keep residents warm and cozy while sitting upright in chairs or beds
- People can make a whole lap robe by themselves or with a group of friends or send in squares that measure 9”x9” to Yarn Over
- Information on the Community Making Project will be sent throughout the county
- This is the first of hopefully many such projects the store hopes to organize
- Finished items can be dropped off at Yarn Over: 569 State Route 244 in Alfred Station, just down the road from the Canacadea Country Store. They can also be mailed to the same address
- People who want to get in touch with the store can do so at 607-587-8002, yarnoveralfred@gmail.com, www.yarnoveralfred.com, or through Facebook or Instagram
- At the end of March a tally will be made of all items collected and will be delivered to the Hart Comfort House.
