During the investigation, it was alleged that Shawna Lamont,  28 of Perry,  was traveling East on Route 20a and failed to notice a vehicle stopped and awaiting a safe opportunity to turn left onto Fisher Road. Lamont rear ended that vehicle which resulted in the driver being taken to WCCH for minor injuries. Deputies found that Lamont was operating on a suspended ID only. Lamont had a total of five suspensions. Deputies charged Lamont with AUO 2nd degree, operating without a License, Following too Closely, Obstructed View, Unsafe Tire, and Failed to Notify DMV of an Address Change. LAMONT was arraigned in Warsaw Court and remanded to Jail on $500 bail. Assisting at the scene was Warsaw Fire Department along with Karson’s Garage.
On 10/9/2018, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s received a call about a male subject leaving a husky dog at Wal-Mart in Warsaw. It was reported that the dog had gotten out of the vehicle and the owner, later identified as Sean CAREY, 29 of castile, gave up trying to locate the dog after a short time. Carey never reported the dog missing to proper authorities. Some witnesses were able to get a hold of the dog and kept it safe until the arrival of a Deputy. On the following day, the Deputy took the dog to Perry Veterinary Clinic who was able to track the dog to its original owner. After contacting the previous owner, the Deputy was able to identify Carey as the person who had left the dog. Carey was charged with abandonment of an animal. The dog, Luna, was returned to the previous owner.
