Drug defendant cuts deal in Allegany County court

There will be no prison/jail for a Wellsville man who had his attorney strike a deal. According to a press release, Matthew G. Monroe, 27, of Wellsville has been charged with felony drug possession and possession a hypodermic instrument. He pleaded guilty in Allegany County court to attempted drug possession. According to the release, on August 21st, Monroe was found on West Dyke Street with five grams of cocaine and a needle.
Judge Terry Parker sentenced Monroe to five years probation and asked for $325 for the court surcharge.
