The preliminary investigation revealed that a pedestrian, a 63-year-old female, was crossing Main Street when a northbound 2014 Ford Fiesta struck them. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS.
The vehicle operator, Bryan D. Royston, age 52, of Hilton, NY, remained on scene and contacted 911. Troopers interviewed the operator and detected no signs of impairment. The operator was evaluated by EMS and declined further medical treatment.
The investigation is ongoing.

On July 15, 2025, the New York State Police at SP Geneseo are investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 7:40 p.m. in the area of Main Street, in the town of York, Livingston County.
Preliminary investigation determined that the incident involved a passenger vehicle striking a pedestrian. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are responding to the scene to assist with the investigation.
