Bolivar woman jailed for attempting to kill two state
troopers
State police have arrested Julia C. Groff, 31, of Bolivar.
She is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated
assault on a police officer with a deadly weapon, grand larceny of a motor
vehicle, menacing a police officer, criminal possession of a weapon and
resisting arrest. She is currently being held in the Allegany County Jail
without bail. Groff is accused of stealing a vehicle and then violently
attacking and stabbing two troopers. State police did fire their duty weapon, but did not strike the woman One of the troopers is listed in serious
condition at Strong Memorial in Rochester.
