Obituary: Larry J. Kahle, 82, Eldred, PA

Larry J. KAHLE, 82, of Eldred, PA, died Friday, January 3, 2025 in his home.  Born June 22, 1942, in Olean, NY, he was the son of Thomas Jacob and Frances Higley Kahle.  On May 13, 1995, in Duke Center, he married Penny L. Sawyer, who survives.  A 1960 graduate of Otto-Eldred High School, he served honorably with the U.S. Air Force for eight years.  He was employed as an air traffic controller by the FAA, owned and operated a video store in Port Allegany and the Gold Eagle Hotel in Eldred, and was employed by the U.S. Postal Service.  Larry was a life member of Eldred American Legion Post #887, and a member of the NRA and  Loyal Order of Moose #460 in Port Allegany.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and pool player.  Surviving besides his wife, Penny, are: two children, Laura Williams of Rew and Cris (Christine) Kahle of Bradford; a step-son, Christopher (Stacey) Claycomb of Duke Center; seven grandchildren, Casey (Coury) Wilson, Zachary (Mary) Williams, James (Lindsay) Kahle, Rachael (Mark Keyworth) Kahle, Aarron (Jentami) Williams, Ethan Claycomb, and Logan Claycomb; eight great-grandchildren, Allen, Jaiden, Elizabeth, Lauralie, Collin, Lucah, Anastasia, and Renesmee; two siblings, Janet (Basil) Holly of Duke Center and Thomas Jay Kahle of Hinsdale, NY; nieces and nephews.  Friends may call at Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Crematory, Switzer Chapel, Port Allegany, PA on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 3:00 –6:00 PM, followed by a remembrance time and Military Rites by the Port Allegany Honor Guard at 6:00 PM.  Memorials may be made to any animal care rescue.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.olneyfoust.com.
