New York State Police Wall of Honor - Today we remember Trooper Michael R. O'Donnell
Trooper Michael R. O'Donnell, 72, died on December 24, 2020, as a result of cancer stemming from his assignment to the World Trade Center site following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
Following the events of 9/11, Trooper O'Donnell was assigned to New York City to aid with the search and recovery efforts as part of the New York State Police Detail.
Trooper O'Donnell joined the State Police on November 14, 1974. He retired on February 23, 2005, having served for 30 years.
Trooper O'Donnell is survived by his wife, daughter and son.
