Obituary: Maxine Rouse FAULISI, 94, of Corning
Maxine Rouse FAULISI, 94, of Corning, NY, passed away October 17, 2024 in her home after a brief illness surrounded by family. Maxine proudly lived independently with support from her family. Born November 9, 1929, in Lawrenceville, PA, the daughter of Robert and Mary Wood Rouse. Maxine was an Honor Society member and graduated from Northside Blodgett High School. She attended the First United Methodist Church in Corning. In her early years, she taught Sunday school in the Presho Methodist Church. Additionally, she was employed by New York Telephone Company where she worked for several years and during this time she met her husband, Nicholas D. Faulisi, and they were married December 2, 1950. Maxine and Nicholas had five children, Sandy (Pete) Stam, Linda Faulisi (Bob Perkins), Vicki Hoover (Bob Clarke), Nick (Shelly) Faulisi, and Brian Faulisi. She was blessed with eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas; her son, Brian; grandchildren, Lark Towner and Miles Griswold; two sisters, Miriam (Clayton) Bronson and Elizabeth (Robert) Stratton; and a brother, Rodney (Hazel) Rouse. While raising her children, Maxine also was an integral part of various business ventures with her husband and business partner, Nick, on their property in South Corning. During her lifetime she experienced the great depression, numerous wars and conflicts, three local flood events, and numerous New York Yankee successes and disappointments, but was always routing for her Yankees. During her 94 years, she was privileged to witness untold historical and personal events. Maxine was a resilient and content woman who loved her family, feeding her feathered friends, working crossword puzzles, and politics. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Corning Hospital staff for caring for her during her time with them and to CareFirst at the end of her time with her family.
