On November 11th, 2024 approximately 80 veterans, Morrison Hayes Post 702 American Legion Honor Guard and guests attended Veterans Day Services to recolonize our LIVING veterans for their dedicated and loyal service to our country at Veterans Memorial Park, Wellsville, NY.
Master of Ceremonies, Post 702 Commander Yvonne Simmons welcomed all. Guest speakers were Shane Scott, Past Exalted Ruler of Wellsville Elks #1495 and Morrison Hayes Post 702 Legion Member; Wellsville Mayor Shayler; Chris Martelle representing the Town of Wellsville and Allegany County Legislator Steve Havey.
Wreaths were placed by the Mayor and Town representatives, Past Post 702 Commander Brent Roberts and Tom Hand Exalted Ruler of Wellsville Elks #1495.
After services a luncheon was enjoyed at the Post provided by Unit 702 American Legion Auxiliary.
Then the Color Guard proceeded to The Wellsville Manor where a service was held for approximately 50 residents and guests. Each veteran was given a flag pin and a thank you card.
