Congressman Langworthy Announces $2 Million in Federal Funding for Town of Friendship Water Infrastructure

FRIENDSHIP, NY – Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) this week announced $2 million for critical improvements to the Town of Friendship’s drinking water system and toured the construction site. This funding was secured in H. Res. 4366, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024, which was signed into law in March.

“I’m proud to have secured this $2 million investment for the Town of Friendship to overhaul its aging water infrastructure,” said Congressman Langworthy. “With these funds, we’ll be able to replace leaking, undersized water mains and build a new water storage tank, ensuring residents have safe, reliable drinking water for decades to come. This project is exactly the kind of federal investment our rural communities need and deserve.”

The proposed improvements include the construction of a new water storage tank and the replacement of several sections of the water main. These upgrades will help address the issues caused by age-related deterioration, ensure adequate water flow for fire suppression, and provide residents with a dependable water system.
